▶유기 미네랄 : 식물이나 동물의 조직 내에 유기 화합물의 형태로 존재하는 미네랄로 인체에 대한 흡수율은 25～50% 정도이다.

솔트 레이크가 있는 지형은 원래 태평양의 일부분이었으나, 백악기말의 조산운동으로 지형이 융기하면서 형성된 내륙호이다. 이 호수가 위치한 지역의 기후는 겨울에는 매우 춥고 눈이 많이 오며, 여름에는 사막성 기후이다. 이러한 독특한 기후환경은 솔트 레이크를 세계 최고의 이온 미네랄 공급원으로 탄생시켰다.
